Telonium Communications is a privately held, Voice over IP (VoIP) hosted PBX service provider, based in Atlanta, Georgia. The company was launched in 2010 by two Georgia Tech alumni as an answer to poor business telephony options available in many offices throughout the Atlanta area. The name is a combination of "Telo" for telephone and "onium" to signify its elemental and simple product offering. The company's primary service offering is a Hosted VoIP Phone System, allowing users to benefit from the features of high-end phone system using high-bandwidth data connections (such as Cable Internet access) while eliminating the cost associated with purchasing and maintaining a traditional PBX. As of March 2011, the company provides voice service to hundreds of users in the Atlanta area alone, in addition to also providing Public switched telephone network access (via SIP trunks) to dozens more throughout the United States. ==References==
